Yascha Mounk is Professor of International Affairs at Johns Hopkins University. He is the founder of the debate platform Persuasion, hosts the podcast “The Good Fight,” and writes a weekly column on Substack, where he has over 90,000 subscribers. Mounk regularly writes for leading international outlets and is regarded as a key voice on liberal democracy and social cohesion. His notable books include The Identity Trap: A Story of Ideas and Power in Our Time and The People Versus Democracy: Why Our Freedom Is in Danger and How to Save It. Born in 1982 in Munich, he earned his PhD in Government from Harvard University, and has taught at universities including Harvard, Dartmouth College, and Sciences Po, Paris. In 2017, he became a US citizen.
