Prof. Simon J. Evenett, Ph.D.

Simon J. Evenett is Professor of Geopolitics and Strategy at the IMD Business School in Lausanne and an expert on trade, investment, and geopolitical dynamics. With nearly 30 years of experience, he has advised senior executives and MBA participants on global business challenges. In 2023, he became Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Trade and Investment.
He founded the St Gallen Endowment for Prosperity Through Trade (SGEPT) and created initiatives like the Global Trade Alert and the Digital Policy Alert, offering insights on trade and policy shifts. A prolific author of over 250 publications, Evenett's work focuses on trade policy, protectionism, and industrial strategy. Previously, he held roles at the University of St. Gallen, Oxford University, and Johns Hopkins University.
