
Ambassador Jacques Pitteloud
Head of the Mission of Switzerland to NATO, Ambassador of Switzerland to the Kingdom of Belgium
Ambassador Jacques Pitteloud is currently Head of the Swiss Mission to NATO and Ambassador of Switzerland to the Kingdom of Belgium.
He has previously served as Swiss Ambassador to the United States of America, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia and the Seychelles.
In the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), he was Director of Resources and, before that, Director for Arms Control, Disarmament, Security Policy and Intelligence at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in Bern. He was also the Swiss government's first intelligence coordinator and headed a study group on the reorientation of the Swiss Armed Forces.
He previously worked in the Strategic Intelligence Service, the Swiss Embassy in Saudi Arabia and as an advisor to the then Foreign Minister.
Dr Pitteloud studied law at the University of Zurich and completed the International Security Policy Training Programme (ISPT) at the University of Geneva.
