Strategic Foresight
Strategic foresight methods
To ensure that what is learnt in the modules can be directly applied, we use strategic foresight. In practical exercises, participants learn methods for exploring possible future scenarios, deriving options for action and shaping a desirable future.
Traditional problem-solving methods often reach their limits in times of increasing uncertainty. In contrast, strategic foresight methods offer a structured approach to systematically develop different future scenarios and to identify emerging trends and potential disruptions at an early stage. This makes it possible to derive opportunities and risks, identify the need for action and develop strategic measures.
Thanks to the partnership with the Foresight Competence Centre at the Fraunhofer Institute, the Executive Programme is linked to leading applied research in the field of strategic foresight. Dr Simone Kimpeler teaches participants proven research-based methods for horizon scanning and sensemaking, Delphi surveys, scenario building, roadmapping and visioning. Their application helps executives to navigate through the complexity of uncertain future developments, to question future assumptions and to recognise opportunities and risks at an early stage.
Advantages of the Foresight Method
Structured Approach
The Straregic Foresight Methods provide a structured approach for the systematic development of different future scenarios.
Early Detection
